Legal Education and Early Practice

Tzin Yern graduated from the University of London in 1994 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice in the same year. She commenced her pupillage with Messrs S. B. Cheah & Associates, a boutique firm with a strong focus on transactional work including property acquisitions and disposals, property financing, and land development, where she worked closely with the managing partner, Mr Cheah Shu Boon. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1995 and continued her practice as a legal assistant with the firm.

Corporate, Banking, and Property Advisory Practice

Over the course of her practice, Tzin Yern has developed extensive experience advising on property financing, project financing, corporate and business financing, trade financing, and banking securities. Her work also covers corporate share sales, subscriptions and options, joint venture arrangements, shareholders’ agreements, sales of businesses and other assets, and land and commercial leasing transactions.

She regularly advises real property owners and developers, including local and foreign entities, on regulatory compliance, real property taxation, and strata management matters across a wide range of property transactions and development projects.

Client Representation and Partnership at the Firm

Tzin Yern has advised and represented a diverse client base, both local and international, ranging from individuals to financial institutions and corporations, including banks, property developers, property agents, multinational companies, trading companies, and foreign embassies. She joined Messrs Arthur Wang, Lian & Associates in June 2013 and was admitted as a Partner of the firm in July 2014.
