About Chong Tzin Yern
Corporate, Banking & Real Estate
Partner with over 30 years in corporate, banking and property transactions. She advises on financing structures, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, development projects, strata management and cross-border property matters, acting for licensed banks, developers, multinational companies and foreign entities.
Legal Education and Early Practice
Tzin Yern graduated from the University of London in 1994 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and obtained her Certificate of Legal Practice in the same year. She commenced her pupillage with Messrs S. B. Cheah & Associates, where she gained experience in transactional matters involving property acquisitions and disposals, property financing, and land development under the guidance of the managing partner, Mr Cheah Shu Boon. She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1995 and subsequently continued her legal practice with the firm as a legal assistant.
Corporate, Banking, and Property Advisory Practice
Tzin Yern has developed extensive experience in banking, finance, property, and corporate advisory work. Her practice includes advising on property and project financing, corporate and business financing, trade financing, and banking securities, as well as corporate transactions involving share sales, subscriptions, options, joint ventures, and shareholders’ agreements.
She also advises property owners and developers, both local and foreign, on regulatory compliance, real property taxation, strata management, and related issues arising from property transactions and development projects.
Client Representation and Partnership at the Firm
Tzin Yern has advised and represented a diverse clientele comprising individuals, financial institutions, corporations, property developers, trading companies, multinational companies, and foreign embassies, both locally and internationally. She joined Messrs Arthur Wang, Lian & Associates in June 2013 and was admitted as a Partner of the firm in July 2014.
